THE VALE of Glamorgan has once again been overlooked by the Welsh Assembly Government in favour of the valley areas for Transport grants.


That’s the claim of regional AM Alun Cairns who said he was dismayed at the small amount of money allocated by WAG to transport and road schemes in the Vale.

COMMENTING on the publication of ‘Control Shift’ – a major Conservative green paper on the decentralisation of local government, Shadow Local Government Minister Alun Cairns said:

WELSH deputy first minister Ieuan Wyn Jones has been accused of  refusing to answer questions about the proposed Cardiff International Airport access road.

South Wales West Conservative AM Alun Cairns tabled questions at the Assembly  about how much funding was available for this road and also asked for a summary of the representations received from the community during the consultation  over which route the road should follow.

LOCAL Health Boards in Wales have been accused of using money allocated to them for drugs and medication to pay off debts and balance their books.

A probe by the Welsh Conservatives has revealed that health boards in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot were among others in Wales who underspent on their drugs budget - despite refusing to fund patients for life saving treatments in some cases.
