Gower re-located in tourist agency blunder. |

Alun Cairns has his out at a blunder by Visit Wales, which places 3 prominent Gower beaches in Pembrokeshire.
Visit Wales, the Welsh tourisim board, have produced aglossy magazine which highlights the activities available in Wale, however, Rhossili, Llangennith and Langland are listed as being in Pembrokeshire. Commenting on the blunder, Alun Cairns said;
"I simply couldn't believe it that Rhossili, Llangennith and Langland
were quoted as parts of Pembrokeshire. These areas are amongst the
most attractive in the UK and we in Swansea and Gower are very proud of
them."

Keen to capitalise on
Wales' success at the Beijing
Olympics, Tory AM Alun Cairns has called for the re-inclusion of rugby
in the London 2012 Olympic line-up.
Alun Cairns, the Captain of the
Assembly Rugby Team and Chair of the All Party Rugby Group said that rugby,
above any other sport, would ensure maximum participation of young people from
across Wales and the UK, he added;
"Welsh athletes proved they are
among the best in the world at Beijing, Nicole Cooke won Team GB's first gold
medal."

Dredging must stop to save Rhossili |

Tory AM, Alun Cairns, has called for an immediate halt to all sand
dredging operations off Gower following the news that the National Trust has
identified Rhossili as one of the sites most at risk from coastal erosion and
rising sea levels.
Alun Cairns, the Conservative AM for South Wales West, the area which
covers the Gower, said that Rhossili was too important a landmark to give-up to
the sea. The National Trust, yesterday, identified 10 sites across the
UK which they claim will be lost
within 100 years to climate change, coastal erosion and rising sea levels.
