Alun Cairns is the Parliamentary Candidate for the Vale of Glamorgan.  He is an Assembly Member and lives with his family on the Western end of the constituency, in Ewenny. 

 

Alun is married to Emma, an education lawyer and they have one son, Henri, 4, who attends Ysgol Iolo Morgannwg in Cowbridge.  He has lived in South Wales all his life and moved to this area 8 years ago. 

 

Alun is passionate about serving constituents and is determined to answer their needs.  He works tirelessly to gain justice for people who have been wronged by whatever means. 

 

He is also a conviction politician and has a record of standing up for what he thinks is right.  He has a particular interests in policies relating to Special Educational Needs and gets angry when parents of disadvantaged children have to fight for support that should be provided automatically.

 

Alun's other political expertise relate to Business and Investment.  He gained an MBA specialising in Inward Investment policy, some years ago. 

 

Outside politics, Alun enjoys running, cycling and has raised thousands of pounds for various charities through these efforts.  He is also passionate about skiing and once completed ski jump on the BBC's Johnny Vaughan Tonight Show .....under their feature, Tories with a Talent!
