Ysgol Iolo Morgannwg choir, 3 times winners of the Urdd,
have performed in the Senedd of the National Assembly for Wales, for
Assembly Members and members of the public.
Alun Cairns, AM for South Wales West, is a Governor at the
School and invited the choir to perform for his fellow Assembly Members. The
choir, led by conductor, Eleri Roberts, sang for politicians and visitors at
the Assembly on Tuesday. Commenting on the performance, Mr Cairns said,
“They were brilliant; it’s not hard to see why they have won
at the Urdd three times.
“I approached the headmaster about a performance at the Assembly
and was delighted when he accepted the offer.
“The concert was excellent and I am delighted that my
colleagues got to witness the children’s winning performance, I’m sure the
choir will go from strength to strength.”
