Rt Hon. Alun Cairns

Alun Cairns is an experienced Business and Strategy Consultant and Keynote Speaker. He supports a number of international companies in a range of areas including energy, property, fintech and technology. Alun specialises in Foreign Direct Investment and in managing policy and strategy to assist public and private investors based overseas.

Alun served in the Cabinet of three UK Prime Ministers, from David Cameron and Theresa May to Boris Johnson. His focus was to develop and support policies to facilitate economic development and international trade to help generate wealth across the UK.

He was a member of the UK Board of Trade as Secretary of State for Wales and had the opportunity to engage in the broadest range of policy initiatives. He worked closely with colleagues to attract inward investment and promote exports. Alun led a number of trade missions to retain investment in the UK and to secure new FDI projects.

In Parliament he served as Chairman of a number of All Party Parliamentary Groups from Energy Security to Fintech, Financial Markets, Qatar and Trade. He was also an officer of the Parliamentary group on Blockchain and Crypto Assets.

Since leaving Parliament, Alun supports a number of UK and international organisations, developing strategy and policy to support both the public and private sectors. Specific areas include Finance, Blockchain, AI and Energy and how best to work with government. He also advises the Qatar Embassy in the UK.

Alun has an MBA specialising in International Trade. He is a keen runner and has completed 15 London Marathons, raising over £100,000 for a range of charities.
