Alun Cairns MP is working in close collaboration with Dementia Friendly Vale to improve awareness and the make the Vale of Glamorgan Dementia Friendly.
Dementia Friendly Vale is a network of individuals, groups and organisations raising awareness and increasing the support of people living with dementia and their carers in and through their local communities across the Vale of Glamorgan.
Alun Cairns, as a Dementia Champion, is set to hold Dementia friendly workshops and training sessions in the coming months.
Alun Cairns as a Dementia Friends Champion, can independently deliver Dementia Friends sessions.
He commented, “It is important to encourage members of our community to come together and learn about how we can support people living with dementia. Prior to Covid I held a number of training sessions across the Vale and it was really encouraging to see members of our community in attendance who are keen to learn about how we can support people living with dementia. It was an opportunity for participants to share ideas, which was useful in finding ways to continue making progress across the area. I hope to hold these really useful sessions again in the future. and continue to make the Vale of Glamorgan dementia friendly."
