Vale MP Alun Cairns was pleased at the news that his nomination of Barry Beavers Disabled Swimming Club has been short-listed for the next stage of the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014.
Barry Beavers was one of the chosen four organizations out of 4,500 applications that will now be put forward to the public vote in September. If Barry Beavers win, the local community will get £3000.
Mr Cairns commented:
“I am absolutely delighted at Barry Beavers success and thankful that I could help with such a great organization. The Club members should be very proud of their success this far and I wish them the best of luck in the public vote.”
“I attended their swimming gala event some months ago and found it inspirational. I wanted to do all I could to help, the increased pool charges have been a significant hit.
“We now need to plan to ensure that they win the public vote in September. After all, a significant sum is up for grabs.
