Vale MP Alun Cairns joined residents from across Barry in opposition to plans being heard by the local authority today on July 2nd for the development of a large wood burning incinerator plant on David Davies Road in Barry.
Mr Cairns fought against similar proposals submitted five years ago, and is supporting local residents in opposition to the new plans.
Mr Cairns said: “There is a huge amount of concern from local residents living nearby. The site would be visible from many parts of Barry, not least Dock View Road. I have attended several meetings with the community group, and I share their concerns that such development on an industrial scale could have a significant impact on people living nearby. The plant would be clearly visible, and I am not convinced that such a development fits in with the vision of regeneration for Barry.”
