Vale MP Alun Cairns has welcomed the latest fall in unemployment here in the Vale of Glamorgan shown in figures published in November by the Office for National Statistics.
The number of unemployed claimants in Vale of Glamorgan constituency in October 2013 was 1,912.
The number of claimants is 441 lower than in October 2013 and 266 lower than in September 2013. The latest figures published for November 2013 by the office of National Statistics represents a rate of 4% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64.
Commenting on the latest unemployment figures for the Vale, local Alun Cairns MP said:
“This is great news for the Vale of Glamorgan, the claimant count has come down, which is fantastic news.
“This is really positive for us locally and does show that although the economic climate is still tough there is cause for gentle optimism. We need to use this momentum and do everything we can to get more people back to work.”
