Responding to the large fire on the Siteserve site at the Vale Business Park, Llandow, local MP, Alun Cairns said,
“This is worrying for local residents and businesses. Crews from Cowbridge fire station arrived on site at 5:31 this morning.
“In view that plastics and cardboard were being recycled in the building, It is recommended that locals close their windows and doors.
“There are no public safety issues and naturally the Fire Service and Police want to establish the cause.
“The latest count showed that there were 8 water ladders and 2 Aerial appliances. There can be water pressure issues locally and therefore, there are 6 water bowsers on site.
“Some of the smaller roads around the site have been closed but are naturally being kept to a minimum and there is a Silver meeting organised by local agencies taking place at 10.30 this morning.
