Vale MP, Alun Cairns, recently welcomed members of the Merched y Wawr Cowbridge to Westminster.
Merched Y Wawr is a Welsh language group for women and the Cowbridge Branch is one of 280 across Wales. The group met their local Alun Cairns as they arrived at Westminster, before they were taken on a tour of the Houses of Parliament.
Upon completing the tour of the Houses of Parliament the group took their seats in the public gallery of the House of Commons Chamber.
Mr Cairns said:
“I was delighted to be able to welcome Merched Y Wawr to Westminster.
“I was also able to secure tickets to the public gallery area in the Chamber where they watched the Education Debate and a statement from the Foreign Secretary on the current situation in Iran.
“It is always a privilege to show people around and anyone interested in visiting should get in touch. It really is a special place that I want all to experience.”
