The Shampan restaurant from Vale of Glamorgan has been Highly Commended in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition. Unfortunately, Shampan wasn’t selected to represent its region in the Grand Final of the Tiffin Cup 2014.
Shampan will receive a certificate and embroidered Tiffin Cup 2014 chef jacket to mark their achievement in this year’s competition.
The Tiffin Cup champion will be chosen from a shortlist of 13 restaurants, each representing their region of Britain, on Tuesday 8th July 2014 in the Grand Final cook-off in the House of Commons.
The Shampan restaurant was nominated by Alun Cairns MP.
Keith Vaz MP, the co-chair of the Tiffin Cup said:
“We are delighted that Shampan has been Highly Commended in the Tiffin Cup 2014. This is a great tribute not just to the nomination of local MP Alun Cairns but also to the constituency of Vale of Glamorgan as a whole.”
Vale MP Alun Cairns said:
“I am delighted that Shampan has been Highly Commended in the Tiffin Cup. It is unfortunate that they did not manage to reach the Grand Final, but this is such a prestigious award and to be honoured in this way is testament to the fantastic efforts of all staff.”
