Alun Cairns MP joined Cadoxton Youth project to help raise money for Children in Need last week. A range of traditional events were organised by Rita and her team at Victoria Park; from face painting, though to name the bear and guess the weight of the cake.

Onesies Order of the Day

Local MP Alun Cairns joined Romilly Primary School in their effort to raise money for the BBC’s Children in Need. Pupils swapped their uniform for pyjamas and organised a Romilly’s Got Talent competition during the afternoon, raising hundreds of pounds for Children in Need in the process.

The recently launched ‘Llantwit Major Guide’, allows Vale residents an online access to everything Llantwit Major has to offer, and is a one stop shop for all their Llantwit Major needs – local news, weather and a comprehensive list of all pubs, restaurants, shops and events that are in the Llantwit Major and surrounding area.

Vale MP Concerned on Social Worker Spend

Local MP Alun Cairns has expressed concern that the Vale of Glamorgan Council are spending more than half a million pounds a year on agency social workers. Mr Cairns was concerned about the high numbers of constituents who complained to him about the turnover of social workers. The MP for the Vale of Glamorgan said that many constituents found that having to deal with different social workers including short term agency based workers did not allow them to build up a relationship to help them find long-term solutions to their problems.
