Local MP Alun Cairns has been appointed to the Number 10 Policy Board by the Prime Minister and said he was honoured and privileged to be able to play a part in contributing towards government policy.
The Policy Board established last April is chaired by Jo Johnson MP and includes MPs Peter Lilley, Nick Gibb, Paul Uppal, Jake Berry and Margo James. Added to the Board last week along with Mr Cairns were, the founder of You Gov, Nadeem Zahawi, City Financier, Andrea Ledsom, Historian, Chris Skidmore and PR Specialist, Priti Patel. All are members of the House of Commons.
The Board is responsible for developing policy and monitoring its implementation across Government.
The local MP said:
“This is a great opportunity to develop policies that can reflect and support the needs of the Vale and the wider country. I am absolutely delighted. One of my specific areas is energy policy, something that is key to us here in the Vale.
I look forward to working with my colleagues on developing and implementing policy that will reflect local and national needs”.
