Bryn Hafren Pupils in London Visit

Welsh Baccalaureate pupils from Bryn Hafren Comprehensive in Barry met Vale MP Alun Cairns in Westminster this week. The group were able to visit after train operator First Great Western stepped in to help after other travel arrangements fell through.

Barry College Students Meet MP

Students with additional needs on an Independent Living Skills course met with Vale MP Alun Cairns at the Cardiff and Vale College campus in Barry. The students aged between 16 and 22 years old held a discussion on the challenges of entering employment after leaving education courses at the college.

Cowbridge Pupils Visit Westminster

Pupils from Ysgol Iolo Morganwg in Cowbridge made a curriculum based visit to Westminster recently for a tour. The group met with Vale MP Alun Cairns and then took part in an interactive workshop focussed on the role of democracy.

Planning Hurdle Overcome – MP Calls For Final Summer Push

Vale MP Alun Cairns has welcomed the planning decision to allow the potential return of a fairground to Barry Island Pleasure Park. Mr Cairns is now calling on the parties to finalise an agreement on outstanding issues that will allow a fairground to be open in time for Easter and into the summer.

I held the last advice surgery before the General Election on Saturday. The venue was McDonalds in Barry. It is a great place to hold these types of meeting, and I saw a wide range of people on a number of issues.

Romilly Primary Pupils In Pyjamas For Comic Relief

Pupils from Romilly Primary School spent the entire day in pyjamas in aid of Comic Relief. Vale MP Alun Cairns joined the pupils during class and spoke to the youngsters about the aims of the charity.

Barry Island Funfair

We will soon know whether visitors from all over the United Kingdom visiting Barry Island this summer will be looking at a shabby derelict site or a top class fairground beginning to take shape.
