London Marathon 2017

This year I will be running the 2017 London Marathon to fundraise for two fantastic charities:

Heads Together and Age Connects, including the Friends and Neighbours Group.

High Street Business Rates

New business rates due to come into force in 2017 could have a serious impact on Cowbridge High Street according to local traders, with some warning that shops will close.

Pass Wide and Slow

A Dinas Powys family are trying to make horse riding on public roads safer for riders and drivers by promoting the “Pass Wide and Slow” campaign here in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Stop the Abuse of Rhoose

Newly elected Rhoose Councillor Adam Riley has joined forces with veteran local Councillor Jeff James and Vale MP Alun Cairns to condemn what they see as the ‘abuse of Rhoose’. The local representatives met at the proposed Porthkerry Road entrance to Rhoose’s new mega-estate ahead of a protest organised by community activist Richard Barnes. They vowed to unite Rhoose against excessive development and to end what they see as the ‘neglect’ of the community by the Vale Council in Barry.

EU Referendum - What's next?

Over 160 people turned up to hear Vale MP Alun Cairns take questions on Britain’s future relationship with the EU this Friday. Up to 30 members of the public were turned away from the event, unable to fit into the great hall at the rear of the Duke of Wellington Public House in Cowbridge.

School Bus Fares

St Athan residents are being asked to put their children in danger or face paying punitive school bus charges.

Barry Island Train Cancellations

Vale MP Alun Cairns has launched a survey of Barry Island rail passengers in response to continued terminations of the service from the Barry station to the Island. He joined with Andy Green of the Barry Ideas Bank and Jill and Neil Woodward of the Island Residents Association to start the process of surveying rail users last Thursday.
