Local MP visited Barry takeaway Tiffin Rasoi to congratulate them on being shortlisted as one of the 10 best takeaways in the UK.

Although Tiffin Rasoi did not win the award they were thrilled to be nominated for the prestigious awards. The winners were announced in a glittering ceremony at London's Battersea Park last week.

Alun Cairns commented on their fantastic nomination stating, 'it is incredible for a Barry takeaway to be recognised in this manner, to have one of the best takeaways in the UK on our High Street in Barry is something we should be very proud of.

I was fortunate enough to taste some of their curry and it was absolutely delicious. Tiffin Rasoi offer free delivery to anyone in Barry so please take this chance to support them and take the opportunity to try one of the best takeaways in the whole of the nation.'

Manager of Tiffin Rasoi, Motiur Rahman stated that 'I and the rest of the team were very happy to be nominated for this award, we had a fantastic trip and night out at the award ceremony in London. Hopefully next time we can come back to Barry with the winning award!'

The event's founder, businessman Enam Ali, said: ''It gives me great joy that, after the challenges of the last 18 months, my industry friends in the UK curry fraternity and public figures have united once again in person at the home of the British Curry Awards to celebrate the nation’s favourite curry houses while also recognising the issues we, as an industry and as a nation, have faced during the pandemic.''
