Vale MP Alun Cairns visited 1st Llantwit Major Scout Group to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the local group and meet the patrol and scout leaders.
Mr Cairns met with assistant scout leader Alan Davies to learn more about the club and the special activities underway to celebrate the 50th anniversary.
Mr Cairns said: “The visit to Llantwit Major to meet the scout group was very interesting, particularly this year as they celebrate such an important milestone. As a former boy scout, I fully support activities that develop the skills and character of youngsters in Llantwit and the time committed by volunteers. The children told me about the next big camp trip being organised, and I did my best to remember the rope knots I learnt all those years ago.”
