Alun Cairns MP recently addressed a packed meeting of the Barry University of the Third Age recounting stories about the traditions in Parliament, the history behind Parliamentary privilege and the many tensions and excitement of Prime Ministers Questions.
Mr Cairns, a longstanding supporter of the U3A said he had a great time sharing anecdotes and experiences of his first years in parliament.
The Local MP said:
“I really enjoyed meeting the members of Barry U3A and I hope they found my anecdotes of my first years in Westminster interesting. There are many traditions within Parliament that people may not be aware of.
“I would like to thank Lyndon Richards for inviting me and allowing me to share my experiences. U3A is an unique organisation and it allows members to come together to share their skills and life experiences – I do hope they enjoyed mine.”
