Vale MP Alun Cairns is calling on shoppers to support local independent traders before and during the second annual Small Business Saturday on December 6th.
Mr Cairns visited traders in Barry and Llantwit Major and the rural Vale last year in an effort to encourage traders and customers to take part in the nationwide initiative. The campaign, supported by all political parties, was launched by the Prime Minister to recognise the role that small businesses play in the local community.
Mr Cairns said: “The first Small Business Saturday took place last year and was incredibly well supported in Barry and across the Vale. It can be a real shot in the arm for smaller, independent traders to welcome local customers. This year I am encouraging all small businesses to take part in the campaign for the big day on Saturday December 6th.”
