Local MP Alun Cairns met with organisers and a minister at the temporary congregation building for the joint Methodist and United Reform church on Barry Waterfront.
Mr Cairns was invited to visit to learn more about the plans by the church to build a permanent base at Barry Waterfront Centre to replace the temporary building in situ. The new building will be funded from the sale of old church buildings in Barry and the open day was held to gather opinion from the local community, and to tidy the garden space.
Mr Cairns said: “I was delighted to have been invited to learn more about the exciting plans the church has to develop a permanent site. It was very pleasing to see such a good turnout, and to hear some very forward thinking ideas about the future provision for congregations to meet.”
