Alun Cairns MP joined teams of local cubs, scouts, brownies and guides from across the Vale on the Roman Treasure Ramble last weekend. The event, organised as part of the scout/guide hospital community project saw the team from 5th Barry Argonauts come out as winners.
Mr Cairns said:
“I was delighted to present the Argonauts with their medals and must congratulate all those involved. Jack Hardman and the team have put a lot of hardwork into organising this event.
“We started and finished the walk at the Roman ruins at The Knap and took in many of the sights of Barry Town including many of the hills around the town. Some of the cubs who took part were as young as 7 and were exhausted on their return.
“It was a very enjoyable way to promote healthy exercise.”
