In the wake of the EU referendum result I have had numerous letters, telephone calls and emails from constituents on both sides of the debate asking questions about what's next for Britain and expressing views about the direction the country should now take. I have decided to hold this public Q&A session in Barry so that I can answer your questions about the Government's response to Brexit, discuss the impact for the Vale and for Wales and give you the opportunity to let me know what you think should happen now.
The Vale of Glamorgan receives one of the lowest levels of funding from the Welsh Government.The Vale receives £202 less per person than Cardiff, £226 less than Bridgend and £409 less than Rhondda Cynon Taff.The needs of each Authority differ and it would be unfair to call for the same level of spend as RCT. However, Cardiff and Bridgend are better comparators, with Cardiff being one of the most prosperous parts of the UK.
