Alun Cairns visits local Age Connects

Always a pleasure to pop by Age Connects in Barry for a catch-up. Lots of talk about my campaign to stand up for better local buses and… BINGO!

Delighted to welcome Tia (18) who is a local apprentice with Aston Martin in St Athan to No 10. Aston Martin’s St Athan site brings hundreds of jobs and high-skilled apprenticeships to the Vale. Huge congratulations to Tia on being recognised as a Local Skills Champion at 10 Downing Street!

Alun Cairns gives congratulations to Teresa and Roy Goodwin for organising poppy appeal across the vale

Alun Cairns called Defender of the Great British pint

WATCH: The Chancellor referred to me as a “defender of the Great British pint” during his Statement. As Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group it is my job to support the beer and pub industry.

BARRY MARINA SECURED

I’m proud to announce that after two years of campaigning that a £20 million investment for a Barry Marina has been confirmed.

The Barry Marina will bring new investment, jobs, restaurants and bars to the area.

Remembrance Day Commemorations

Today, 105 years ago, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the guns fell silent.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

Volunteering For the Royal British legion in Barry

Humbled by the response and generosity while collecting on the poppy stand today in Barry Tesco.
